Below are the courses I teach at Emory. Click each course title for information about it.
Investments (FIN 323, BBA)
This course is aimed at junior and senior finance majors at Emory. We describe traditional asset classes and
fund structures, portfolio optimization, long-short equity strategies, and factor models. I teach mainly with
Python, but students can choose to submit their assignments in Python or Excel.
Financial Econometrics (FIN 657, Master of Finance)
This course is required for students in Emory's Master of Finance program. We discuss smoothing models for
forecasting, the challenges of nonstationary data, ARIMA modeling, and GARCH modeling. All class sessions and
assignments are in Python.
Corporate finance theory (FIN 723A, PhD)
This course is required for students in Emory's Finance PhD program. We cover selected classic models and
technical issues in corporate finance theory. The next scheduled meeting is in spring semester 2027.
